'Bananas,' as it does have a couple of good quips, is of his first films. In comparison, this is slapstick when compared with Woody Allen's best. When are we able to see 'Manhattan' or 'Annie Hall'? They're among his best. If you are seeking some supreme Woody Allen laugh-out-loud comedy, lose time waiting for 'Sleeper' or 'Love and Death.' I've been anxiously anticipating the arrival in this film on iTunes (since I'm in California and we rarely get tour stops here) so i have to say, I was a little disappointed after how good last years was. Last year's "The Way I See It" was phenomenal, the other of my favorite ski films of all time. I think one of the things that made it so good was the soundtrack, almost every song which was in the film I loved, but Attack of los angeles Nina, there was only one or 2 songs i liked. I definitely believe music is a large part of any movie, but especially ski movies. And also the story became a bit lacking also. With the title Attack of los angeles Nina, and the promotion from it based around how epic last years storms were, there was no real story regarding it at all. Also, the majority of the locations on this film were precisely the same in last years film, for instance Meadows Lodge. When they're awesome locations, it looks like it'd be nice to see new places too. Anyway, despite all my complaints, I always enjoy watching ski movies and that i still love MSP and also much enjoy next years film! I haven't watched it so ignore my rating--can't post comment with out a rating. I do believe this was based on a true story. The Filipinos did an admirable job of fighting okazaki, japan through a resistance movement. Even though the French resistance is much better known the Filipino resistance was quite effective. This is considered one of my all time favorite movies. Fantastic spark between Errol Flynn and Ann Rutherford. Sword fights and swashbuckling action are top notch. And yes, it's filmed in glorious Technicolor. Should you loved Flynn in Robin Hood then you certainly don't want to miss that one! I read the reviews just for this film & thought what the hell, I will test it out for. I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually great. That acting was just right & kept you guessing about who actually killed their father. Someone said elsewhere which the film was over on a very tiny budget. It's much better than a great deal of films with greater budgets.
